Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy Trailer: Gary Oldman and Colin Firth

Gary Oldman is in the top 5 of the list of amazing actors that haven’t won an Oscar. For years, he’s completely lost himself in character after character, and most times you don’t know Oldman is in the movie because the man is a chameleon.

In Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy Oldman takes on the lead role of George Smilely, an intelligence expert that is called upon to hunt down a Soviet mole. He’s joined by a top-of-the-line cast, including Colin Firth, Tom Hardy, and Mark Strong.

Synopsis:

Based on the 1974 British spy novel by John le Carré, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy is set in the bleak days of the Cold War. An espionage veteran, George Smiley, is forced from semi-retirement to uncover a Soviet agent within MI6’s echelons–the highest echelon of the Secret Intelligence Service.

The trailer doesn’t give much away, but it does showcase Gary Oldman in great form. Usually taking supporting roles, as of late, Oldman finally gets another crack at the lead, and it looks like he’s going to subtly knock it out of the park.
