Frank Sinatra Lives Through Construction Worker Gary Russo

Listen to him sing, and you might think that Frank Sinatra has come back from the grave to give one last performance. Gary Russo, a construction worker on Manhattan’s East Side,  serenades the city during his lunch-time with his amazing voice almost completely like Ol’ Blue Eyes himself. He does everything from Frank Sinatra to Neil Diamond, and the city has been appreciative of his performances.

” [I] Karaoke in the shower and in the car and in front of the mirror making believe I was singing to people,” Russo said. “Then I said, what the heck, I’ll do it over here.”

Russo is drawing fans of all ages, giving the world a taste of some quality, classic music.

“No, I’m not a Frank Sinatra fan but since he’s been singing, I’ve been singing myself,” co-worker Jeffrey Harper said.

Passer-bys enjoy the music, as it puts smiles on their faces on busy work days. A sign behind Gary reads, “forget all the noise, traffic and the impact of the 2nd avenue subway. Enjoy the music.” Thanks to Gary, that’s exactly what we’ll do.
