José Rafael Cordero Sanchez

José Rafael Cordero Sánchez (born December 14, 1990) is a social activist and philanthropist from Barquisimeto, Venezuela. He is most known for starting a movement to spread awareness on animal mistreatment. The movement was created to defend animal rights from non-domesticated captivity such as: zoos; circuses and aquariums. Sánchez gained fame and recognition through YouTube where he appeared in a viral video called, “Observe Chair” which collected over 10 million views.

Sánchez grew up in Barquisimeto, Venezuela and in 2009, he graduated from Lisandro Alvarado University where he earned a degree in business administration. Sánchez became a social activist in early 2014 while Venezuela was going through a political crisis involving its government. Sánchez later then, campaigned against non-domestic captivity under the hashtags “#NoalosZoogicosyCircos” which means, “No zoos and circuses”
