Christina Grimmie‘s parents Albert and Tina Grimmie along with her brother Marcus Grimmie have filed a lawsuit over the death of the 22-year-old former The Voice contestant and Youtube star.

In their lawsuit they named AEG Live, the security company working the event and the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra Plaza Foundation (owner of the venue where Grimmie was shot) as defendants. They allege wrongful death and negligent infliction of emotional distress. No metal detectors were at the venue, nor were full-body pat downs performed.

Before coming on The Voice Grimmie was a huge YouTube star with 3 million subscribers and 400 million views. Her YouTube channel featured videos of her playing piano and performing song covers of popular artists.
